Medicare is still in business--but will your benefits resemble what your parents got?
Most of grew up counting on Medicare. More of us enroll each year. Baby boomers may even be about to have irreversible financial impact on this venerable public program.
No matter when you enroll, potential "gotchas" abound. For example: Medicare drug benefits, with their persistent out of pocket expenses, can take the unwary by surprise. Retirees on common maintenance medications could wind up paying close to half the costs themselves. Supplementary insurance may not soak up this excess.
Is there an alternative? Are there diet or lifestyle changes that could reduce or eliminate the need for maintenance meds--and their budget-bashing costs?
Please read my full post at www.ThePaleoDiet.com for an overview of what Medicare enrollees can expect, as well as reasons (and ways) to tweak the numbers in your favor.
